Vipal rolls out exclusive tread for the Canadian market at Truck World 2006
26/4/2006
The company will also be presenting the benefits of tire retreads to the transportation sector.
Borrachas Vipal, one of the most important global manufacturers of tire and inner tube retread and repair products, will be visiting Toronto in Canada between May 20th and 22nd to take part in Truck World 2006, considered the transportation fair with one of the most sizeable audiences with decision-making power in North America. At the event the company, which will be presenting its complete product line, will be introducing its exclusive VUD tread for frozen ground surfaces, developed specifically for the Canadian market. The tread exhibits optimum adherence on dry and wet floors and is recommended for very powerful vehicles that circulate over medium and long distances.
"We aim to expand and consolidate our performance in Canada and throughout North America in the year 2006. Our participation at this fair is of significant importance for the improvement of relationships with retreaders, distributors, truck drivers and fleet owners from the region. Our competitive prices and distribution centers in Miami and in Norfolk, in the United States, have proved essential in this process, but the quality and diversity of our product line, added to the treads developed especially to meet the requirements and demands of the North American market, have made a difference", upholds João Carlos Paludo, Vice-President of Borrachas Vipal.
During Truck World the company will also be showcasing its VWS tread, which is very popular in Canada, and also recommended for frozen ground surfaces. Specifically designed for snow and off-road terrain, this product exhibits good performance in the local market. Other treads will also be presented, including V167 (with excellent traction, indicated for very powerful vehicles and medium and long distances), VDA (also with optimum adherence in traction and indicated for very powerful vehicles that circulate over medium and long distances), VZY (with excellent penetration resistance and good performance on all types of terrain) and the V159 tread (for medium and long distances, recommended for free axles due to the low rolling resistance – but also usable on drive axles).
Besides treads, Vipal will also be presenting its complete line of products at the fair, with an emphasis on orbitread Strip (camelback in strips that offers the advantage of using a single measurement for all tire gauges, permitting reduced stocks of raw material), frequently used by the Canadian market in OTR tire retreads. Other products from the hot retread line, such as connection rubbers and patches – largely commercialized by Vipal in Canada – will also be exhibited at Truck World.
The benefits of tire retreading
Besides displaying its complete product line, during Truck World 2006 Vipal will also be highlighting the benefits of tire retreading for the transportation sector, such as significant cost cutting. "We know that tires represent the second highest costing product in transportation, only surpassed by fuel. Imagine the savings generated by a carrier, for instance, in deciding to retread. For this reason we invest heavily in technology to produce treads that, besides offering quality and safety, also help to reduce operating costs", stresses João Carlos.
In addition to costs, the environmental issue also occupies an important position in the tire retread market. "It is estimated that around two million new tires are produced on a daily basis worldwide, and the challenge of countries consists of creating alternatives to prevent used tires from causing environmental problems. And tire retreading is the main alternative, as it reduces the number of tires disposed of in the environment", concludes João Carlos Paludo.
